The mission of Cambridge Christian School is to glorify God in all that we do, to demonstrate excellence at every level of academic, athletic and artistic involvement; to develop strength of character; and to serve the local and global community. The words don’t call for definition so much as application. What do they mean in practice?
Excellence

Philippians 4 tells us to think on, chew on, “camp out on” whatever is true, right, noble, pure, lovely – whatever is excellent. Excellence in any pursuit is our commitment to God of all our effort, our commitment to do it for Him the best that we can. Philippians 3 also reminds us that excellence is not something to which we shall fully attain, but is the goal to which we aspire. As Christian educators, we pursue knowledge with an attitude of excellence best characterized as “life-long” learning, and want to model that commitment for students to follow. We commit to guide our students along the path of learning according to their unique learning styles and levels of development. Finally, we seek to be an example of excellence to our students in their other areas of growth – namely their physical, social and spiritual development.
Christ-centered Worldview

All of our pursuits are undertaken in light of a particular view of the world. Everyone has and is further developing a worldview. It may be skeptical, cynical, secular or biblical, but no one thinks or learns without a worldview. History has documented previous human endeavors which ultimately fell short of their mission because they failed to take into account the moral and spiritual need of mankind that can only be met through Jesus Christ. At Cambridge Christian School, we seek to grow in a Christ-centered worldview. In close concert with the home, we want to expose each student to the saving knowledge of Christ and His Word, so that they in turn may be “salt and light” to those around them.
Partnership
Finally, we believe that education at its best is to be pursued in partnership with parents. It is not the school which will stand responsible before God for the education of these children. Instead, each mom and dad enjoys that privilege and bears that responsibility. Joining with Cambridge Christian, you have asked us to link hands with you in this awesome and blessed duty of educating your children. We are sobered by the importance of the work, and deeply grateful to join you in loving and teaching your children to the fullness of their potential and to the glory of their Creator.
Extracurricular Activities
Students who wish to participate in academic activities outside the classroom may choose from Odyssey of the Mind, National Forensics League, Student Government and the National Honor Societies. Student journalists publish the Cambridge Christian School newspaper, yearbook and an annually published literary magazine. Elementary reporters write, direct and execute a daily-televised morning show. Outside of their school activities, Cambridge Christian School students represent the school through Boys' State, the Presidential Classroom, National Leadership Forums in Law and Medicine, overseas programs and the Duke Talent Identification Program.
The Fine Arts program is also rich with activities designed to let the Lord's light shine. Each year the spring musical boasts Broadway-inspired set preparation, choreography, and costuming as well as incredible orchestral and vocal performances. The high school choir is involved in philanthropic endeavors as well, traveling annually to various Caribbean locations, combining singing with mission outreach. An annual student talent show showcases student achievement in a multitude of disciplines. The band program affords student musicians with opportunities to play in state competitions, chapel and school assemblies.
Activities abound for students wishing to develop spiritually. Student-led Bible studies, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and community service programs exist at every level. Weekly chapel services encourage student participation and leadership. Each day students grow spiritually through the development of a relationship with teachers who model the love of Christ.
